Curious Kids in Training

I always have the best of intentions when it comes to getting Emily in the kitchen with me. But by time to cook dinner I am normally exhausted and need to not take three time as long to get it done. I know, I know, that sounds horrible but it’s true! To combat that I have taken a few simple steps to get her in the kitchen more while still maintaining my sanity. Since I know I can’t be the only one in this situation I am going to share my tips with you over on the blog today.
Our Caddy Collection is one our most popular items not just because it has everything your little one needs to start cooking and baking, but because you can keep it organized in one place! No more messy "kids cabinet" in the kitchen full of disorganized piles of kitchen stuff.

My little helper 😍
. I strongly believe in involving kids in daily chores from very early age itself. I knew nothing about cooking and but had an excellent house keeping skills when we started a life alone in the USA. And Aneesh knew nothing too 😅 We struggled and learned everything from trial and error. So I promised myself that I will teach my kids all the basic life skills first before teaching them numbers or letters. Involving kids in daily chores can make our work slow and we need a lot of patience. Since I'm a stay at home mom and I'm taking care of Akkudu all by myself during day time, Akkudu accompanies me in everything I do. He loves being in kitchen and playing with utensils and vegetables. He observes me so well and already helps me a lot. Also he loves doing laundry and reminds me to take clothes out from dryer and asks me to fold it too 😅
. Some simple tasks he helps us with very seriously are opening the blinds in the morning and closing them in the evening, putting his clothes in laundry basket, folding his socks, loading the washing machine, transferring clothes from washer to dryer, helping me unload the dishwasher and mixing and pouring idly batter etc and he is always strictly supervised. I'm a short person who needs stepstool to reach almost all the shelves in our home. One day I was trying to water my plants in the kitchen windwsill in my tiptoes. Akkudu saw it and got me his stepstool 😍 When he sees me wiping the kitchen countertops, he will pick up a towel and joins me without even asking. He acts responsible and is very considerate. I truly believe this is because he is very much involved in our daily chores. When ever I post a video of Akkudu helping me I get some messages labelling it as "child labor". They might be being funny but I find it so strange. Anyway all his helping videos are saved in my highlights under "Chores" and "LilChef" ☺️
. Akkudu, can't thank you enough for making no fuss about this quarantined life for past 5 weeks! #mylilhelper #mammasboy #ammoluandakkudu
