The time invested in teaching Nicholas how to cook is time well spent. I love these moments with him. I have so many sweet memories of being in the kitchen with my mom and grandma, and I want Nicholas to have those same sweet memories for him to look back on. I am fully cherishing moments like this because one day soon, he won’t need his toddler tower to reach the top of the countertops to cook. He’ll be this grown independent boy cooking meals on his own. Don’t rush their growing up years! Today was not our most successful homeschool day. We were all a little crabby, and didn’t get through much. But we spent time outside, got a little lesson done, watched a spider capture and start to eat a bee, and the kids baked one of their most interesting pizzas. baketivity may be the cutest gift sets for curious little chefs. The kit comes with the adorable hat and apron plus all the ingredients vacuum sealed and ready for baking. They also have an educational activity card with it. She made chocolate chunk cookies for Mother’s Day tomorrow. 🍫 🍪

Chef Nicholas John is honing his kitchen skills as he helped with making dinner last night. We had a plethora of various sizes of cut mushrooms and zucchini’s. It was perfect! We have a closet full of sensory bins and stem toys, but when it’s time to cook, being present in the kitchen trumps them all. I’ve said this before, I admire little chefs in the making. 👨‍🍳 .

⁣It’s been a hot minute since we shared any of our kitchen adventures! Grey is still over here cooking up a storm, I just haven’t been as good about documenting it. His current favorite thing to make are these pancake bites. Like the darling little short order cook that he is, Greyson takes down topping orders from his siblings and makes everyone their own special pancake bites. Ava is team sprinkles and Jack is team banana + chocolate chips. Grey usually goes for the blueberry and cinnamon variations. These are super easy to make and super versatile. You can use any pancake mix but the kiddos are quite fond of the pillsbury Funfetti pancake mix. One cup of mix makes 12 bites. I’ll drop the basic instructions below as these are such an easy breakfast or treat to make.

If you have been here awhile you know that our love for curiouschef runs deep but if you are new around here, all of Greyson’s kitchen tools are made by them. The kid safe nylon knives and the plastic measuring cup with color coded measurements get used daily around here. Having the right tools for little hands makes cooking with kids so much easier. 🌈Mini Pancake Bites 🌈⁣
* Pancake batter or a boxed mix⁣
* Toppings ⁣
* Non-stick spray⁣
* Mini muffin pan ⁣
⁣
Preheat oven to 350. Spray your pan. Mix pancake batter and fill each muffin well almost to the top leaving a little room for toppings. Top with your favorite fruits, nuts, chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc. Bake at 350 for about 18 mins (check at 15 minutes.) Let cool and enjoy! ⁣

It is Thursday which means it’s BAKING DAY! Today this big dude is making his debut tonight on stories. He is not as confident in his cooking as his older sister but he is gaining his appreciation and confidence quickly thanks to the fun products and tools that #curiouschef sent us!
